Open Source Cell Phones - Android

If you've not heard of Google's Android platform then it's time you get on board and find out what it is. Think of the iPhone. Think of the software that runs the iPhone. Think about trying to get that software on other brands of phones without heavy restrictions from AT&T or Apple. Keep thinking about how cool that would be. That's Android. It's Open Source - like Linux. There are even apps to download for Android - similar to the iPhone Apps store. Click here to learn more about Android and the phones that presently carry it.

Linux Mint - A Windows Croxx Over

There are many variations of Linux which gives you the freedom to choose the one you like. Think of it as Windows with options. There's Ubuntu, Red Hat, Debian, etc...and now Linux Mint. I must say, Linux Mint is very nice! I downloaded a copy the past weekend and found it to be very easy to use and is 100% ready to go out of the box. No configurations, no downloading extra codecs to get DVD movies to play. MP3's work just fine. Bam! Done!

Hey, give it a try. It is free and it is very robust. I'm sticking with Ubuntu for now but Linux Mint is on my radar screen. Here's Mint's home page.
